A recent project on product photography.
Simple product photography providing images suitable for catalogs or brochures and providing easy cut out options for Graphic Designers.
Creative product photography enhances the appeal of the product, for example by placing it in a suitable environment or by creative use of backgrounds, focus or lighting.
Lifestyle product photography is used to promote the lifestyle benefits associated with the product. This may relate to the use of the product, or in this case illustrating the artisan production process which is intended to emphasise the unique individuality of each hand made item.
The brief for this set of images was concerned at looking at the interaction of light with objects and surface types. Edward Weston's pepper images were a major influence in this case. These images were all captured using my kitchen window as the only light source. I have also used artificial light for food photography but I firmly believe natural light is hard to beat.
